Workshop: Floral crochet - May 2019

Sunday, 19 May 2019 10.30am to Sunday, 19 May 2019 3.30pm

Venue: Art Gallery Society members lounge
Lecturer: Teacher - Margaret Daszkiewicz

Drawing inspiration from Margaret Preston’s studies of Australian native plants, you will learn to crochet a beautiful and individual Monstera Deliciosa leaf. Under the expert guidance of contemporary textile artist Margaret Daszkiewicz, you will learn some traditional and modern crochet techniques. Margaret will show you how to read and understand a crochet chart so you can start making your own leaf and flower that can be transformed into a brooch or any other decorative embellishment.

The workshop is designed for anyone with basic knowledge of crochet techniques and stitches such as chain stitch, single and double crochet.

Knowledge of basic croquet required. Bring your own crochet hook (between 2mm and 3mm preferred). Thread and patterns provided.
