"And someday one will say, one of the men to come
Steering his oar-swept ship across the wine-dark sea
'there's the mound of a man who died in the old days,
one of the brave whom glorious Hector killed.'
So they will say, someday, and my fame will never die."
~ Hector, The Iliad Book 7

“I was under the dryer when the telegram came:
'Private John C. Miller was shot down in Vietnam'
Through my tears I read: “'No more information at this time
He's missin' in action somewhere on the Delta Line.”
~ Martha Reeves & the Vandellas I Should Be Proud 1970

This lecture illustrates the desire for organized violence with treasures including Assyrian reliefs, Graeco-Roman art, Aztec artefacts, and stories of medieval Western Crusaders in the world of Islam and Judaism.
