Listen to the fascinating story of the survival and rediscovery of the silk decorations created in 1895, by artist Charles Conder, for Siegfried Bing’s, commercial gallery in Paris, Maison de l’art nouveau. Conder considered decorating the little art “boudoir” in Bing’s sumptuous residence, as the opportunity of a lifetime.

Angus Trumble is a former director of the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra. Previously, he was senior curator of paintings and sculpture at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, Connecticut.
