Art Club 2020 (9 to 13 years): Oil pastel and popular culture - Sunday 3pm

Sunday, 17 May 2020 3.00pm to Sunday, 17 May 2020 4.30pm

Program: Art Club 2020 (9 to 13 years) - Sunday 3pm
Venue: Art Gallery Society members lounge

Inspired by the artist Andy Warhol we use popular culture as inspiration and subject matter. The humble oil pastel was apparently invented by Picasso because he enjoyed using his children’s wax crayons so much! We use them for their direct and easy application of bright vibrant colours and utilise their ability to resist ink, to make a pop poster, referencing commercial confectionery packaging.
