This lecture will discuss the importance of Andy Warhol’s social milieux in the evolution of his art practice. It will trace an arc from the 1950s to the 1980s, stopping along the way at colouring-in parties at Serendipity 3, Velvet Underground performances at The Factory, and celebrations with the rich and famous at Studio 54.

 Nicholas Chambers is the Art Gallery’s Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary International Art.  He was formerly the Milton Fine Curator of Art at The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh.
