Matisse: Life & Spirit is a Sydney-exclusive exhibition on display at the Gallery from 20 November 2021 to 13 March 2022. It offers an extraordinary immersion in the range and depth of the art of Henri Matisse, one of the world’s most beloved, innovative and influential artists.
From the comfort of your home, come on an inspirational journey through the life and art of this ceaselessly inventive and life-affirming painters. Exhibition curators Justin Paton and Jackie Dunn will consider the brilliant colour, dynamic energy, visual joy and emotional power of Matisse: Life & Spirit and Matisse Alive, a vibrant gallery-wide festival of Matisse featuring new work, projects and art from the collection. Monique Watkins, deputy editor of Look magazine will host a Q&A session with Justin and Jackie after the presentation. This live format will enable attendees to ask questions of their own.
