Make your own crochet maple leaves! Maple trees have been a popular subject of Japanese art, poetry, and literature for thousands of years. Many classic Japanese works of art and poems are about the maple tree or the falling maple leaves.
Contemporary textile artist Margaret Daszkiewicz will teach traditional and modern crochet techniques to create beautiful individual maple leaves, which can be made into a key ring, brooch or a decorative embellishment.
The workshop is designed for everyone with basic knowledge of crochet techniques and stitches such as chain stitch, single and double crochet. You will be shown how to read and understand a crochet chart so you can start making your own leaf and flower that can be transformed into a brooch or any other
Knowledge of basic crochet required. Bring your own crochet hook (between 2mm and 3mm preferred). Thread and patterns provided.
