Expand your musical horizons with the sensational six piece chamber group Third Culture.
Third Culture’s music is a 'musical treasure vase,' a synthesis of musical style from around the world, blending classical chamber music with original Australian compositions, plus new settings of traditional music from all corners of the globe.
The group is devoted to using the transformative powers of music to unify and inspire, with its joyful merging of classical, jazz, funk, and world music.
Featuring Jane Rutter (flutes), John Huie (guitar, voice, SanXian), Hugh Fraser (double bass), Sally Schinckel (cello), Andrew Wilkie (vibes), Maharshi Raval (tabla) and Aboriginal Elder Didgeridoo player Gavi Duncan.
Following the concert, the exhibition The Way We Eat will be open for viewing. The Way We Eat explores how what we eat and drink, and the way that we do so, defines our times and our lives. Combining historical treasures with dramatic contemporary artworks, the exhibition is drawn from the Gallery’s extensive Asian art collection and loans from private collections.
Please note: ticket includes performance and exhibition viewing only as refreshments are not available at this concert. The seating arrangement will be concert style.
