This month we will explore the potentials of lino printing. Lino printing is a simple and effective way to make a set of prints. Detailed designs can be cut out of the lino to make several identical prints in one colour. In this class, we will experiment with the Reduction Method, used by artists such as Picasso to create unique one-off prints. With this technique, you will design and cut your print. A first impression will be made in one colour. You will then proceed to cut away from your image in stages, printing in a different colour layering each colour on top of the last. Brenda will guide you through this process and you will go home with an exciting and unique set of coloured prints.
